Sticky Pecan Rolls: Copyright Violation No. 3 is a linoleum block print/digital collage that takes a look at the way copyright law has reached into the home, affecting what we eat, what we wear, what we read. Whereas exchanging favourite recipes with your friends used to be a neighborly thing to do, now it carries the taint of illegality.
Does this stop people? Not really. I was given the recipe for Sticky Pecan Rolls by a friend (copyright violation no. 1), and decided, in a small act of civil disobedience, to reprint the recipe (copyright violation no. 2) as well as the items I made from them (copyright violation no. 3?). And then we ate the rolls, and you know what? They didn't taste any different than legal baked goods.
