About my studio

Why Little Red Hen?

The name for my studio comes from the fable of that hard-working mother hen and her familiar catchphrase: "I'll do it myself!" Like the original Little Red Hen, I like to dabble in a lot of different areas, and I'm often quite happy working on my own. (Unlike my namesake, I'm not much good at gardening. Rather than growing and milling the wheat, I much prefer the baking—and eating—of the bread.)

Over time I've discovered works on paper are what I love best, like watercolors and scratchy pen and ink, printmaking, book arts, writing and (god help me) editing. My studio encompasses all these things through my freelance editing and publishing business as well as a growing visual arts practice.

I'm currently enrolled at the South Australian School of Arts, working on the research and written component of a post-graduate degree in printmaking.
